On Saturday, October 25, 2008, the DGA Special Projects Committee presented the second event in its educational series “Directing for Professionals,” with the seminar Prep: What It Is and How to Use It.

Guild members met in the Los Angeles Headquarters Boardroom where DGA director-members Robert Butler (Hill Street Blues; Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Jay Chandrasekhar (The Dukes of Hazzard; Chuck), Victoria Hochberg (Ghost Whisperer; Kitchen Confidential), and Donald Petrie (Miss Congeniality; How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days) discussed a variety of subjects pertaining to the prep process including: how to assemble a team, what to look for while scouting a proposed location, what to look for in auditions, and how to create a collaborative spirit and non-confrontational atmosphere. DGA director-member Arthur Seidelman (By Dawn’s Early Light; Magnum P.I.) served as moderator of the conversation
