The DGA’s National Board of Directors unanimously approved the contract during the board meeting on October 24, 2009 and sent it to the membership for ratification.

The agreement covers includes salary increases, the adoption of a code of preferred practices on creative rights, and provisions protecting and securing pension and health coverage for directors. The new contract will expire on October 31, 2011.

“I’m very pleased by the outcome of the commercial negotiations, especially considering the state of advertising in this economy,” said DGA President Taylor Hackford. “By working together with the AICP, we were able to find solutions that will benefit both sides of the table, ultimately providing more work for all of us.”

“The new agreement contains not only important benefits and protections for our members but also creative solutions to ensure that our partners are able to continue providing new jobs for our members,” said Russell Hollander, Eastern Executive Director of the DGA.
